The Company aims to put on a varied programme of six productions a year including a traditional pantomime. Rehearsals are usually on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The high level of productions and regular social events make for a lively, interesting and friendly organisation.
We are a registered charity and the company relies on the time and effort of its members. New members are always welcome and we are a very social group.
Tuesday evening is considered “club night” and is always open to new members. Informal play readings and workshops happen regularly and this is a good opportunity to meet some of the members and have a look around the theatre.
There are many interesting jobs to be done; it is not just the actors who bring the show to you. There is always a need for set designers, scenery builders, lighting people, prompts, front of house staff, costume makers and many others for the thousand and one jobs that contribute to a successful group.
We also have three Youth Groups. Young Stagers for Children aged 7-11 who meet on a Saturday morning, Centre Stagers (11-14) who meet from 6pm until 7.30 on a Wednesday evening and Up Stagers (14-18) who meet from 6pm until 7.30 on a Thursday evening.
